Skating Rules

All skating at Sapphire skaters Events is at skaters' own risk. Sapphire Skaters cannot be held responsible for accidents which occur as a result of skating.


We ask everyone to please follow the rules below at our events, anyone not doing so may be asked to leave.

Skates:

  • Please ensure your quad skates have toe stops or jam plugs. Wheels must be of equal size and free of debris.

  • Socks must be worn with hire skates.

Health and fitness:

  • Do not participate in our sessions if you are pregnant, have COVID-19 or any medical condition that may effect your abilities or balance. Skaters are personally responsible for ensuring that they are fit to participate in our events.

  • Large or non-discrete jewellery should be removed prior to skating.

In the skating area/sports hall:

  • Skating is not permitted in other areas of the venue outside the sports hall and seating area.

  • We reserve the right to ask spectators to leave the skating area should we deem it a safety risk.

  • Children under the age of 16 spectating are not permitted inside the skating area without skates on.

  • Carrying children/the use of buggies or pushchairs are prohibited inside the skating area.

  • Adults should skate with children without holding hands.

  • The use of camera, headsets, mobile phones or hand-held electronic devices are prohibited in the skating area.

  • No food and drink onto the skating area. 

  • Observe coned off areas at all times.

  • Skaters should leave the skating area if they intend to make adjustments to their skates.

  • Please report all accidents or injuries to staff immediately.​

Skating/behaviour:

  • Adults should skate with children without holding hands.

  • All skaters travel in a counter-clockwise direction unless instructed otherwise.

  • We ask all skaters to look out for and be considerate of others. No pushing, crashing, sliding or throwing.

  • In the event of a fall, keep hands out of the way of other skaters and get up quickly to avoid injury.

  • Never skate faster than you can control.

  • Foul language or inappropriate behaviour will result in removal from the session and/or the building. Rough play, speed skating will not be tolerated. Your ticket may be cancelled without a refund.
